January 10, 2010 meeting with NPS
On January 10, 2011 at the Golden West Visitor Center in Stehekin, the
National Park Service Superintendent, Palmer "Chip" Jenkins and his
staff met with concerned Stehekin community members. The meeting was in
response to requests for an extended commentary period and desire for
more opportunity to evaluate and respond to the current Drafts of the
Land Protection Plan (LPP) and the Stehekin River Corridor
Implementation Plan (SRCIP). A Stehekin Heritage sub-committee presented
prepared statements.
